Charges Filed Against Man Who Stabbed Girlfriend to Death

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office has charged Kyle Guthrie, 36, with First Degree Murder in connection with the July 26, 2025, fatal stabbing of his girlfriend Thanh Thi Yen To. The charges were filed by District Attorney

Vicki Zemp Behenna following an investigation by the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Just after 1 a.m. on July 26, Oklahoma City police officers were called to a home near NW 50th St. and N. Roff Ave. Investigators say Guthrie called police to tell them he had stabbed his girlfriend inside the home. When officers arrived, To was found stabbed to death.guthrie_kyle

“Thanh To’s life was taken in an act of brutal violence,” said District Attorney Behenna. “No one deserves to die in such a manner especially at the hands of someone they trusted. My office will hold the defendant accountable for his actions and pursue justice for Ms. o to the fullest extent of the law.”

Guthrie was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on a $10 million dollar bond. He remains in custody.

Criminal charges are based on probable cause to believe a person has committed a crime. All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
