PUBLIC SERVICE

Community Service

Funded by Oklahoma County, the Community Service Program works with district judges in handling criminal defendants who have been required to perform community service as part of their sentences. The program's mission is to require offenders to pay a debt to society. The program places clients with government agencies and non-profit organizations, which are approved by district judges. Most persons placed by the program are first-time, non-violent offenders who have received probationary sentences for felonies, misdemeanors, and traffic cases such as Driving Under the Influence (DUI). Offenders do not work with children or elderly in day care centers or nursing homes.

If you may be a juror in the future, we recommend you read the notice to prospective jurors and see who can and cannot be a juror. Learn more here

SHINE Program Involvement
