Yesterday in Oklahoma County District Court, Gabriel Aguilar, 29, entered a Blind Plea of Guilty for the murder of Selena Pacheco-Escalera. When a blind plea is entered by the defendant, the Judge determines the punishment. Because Aguilar was charged with First Degree Murder, the range of punishment was Life or Life Without the Possibility of Parole (LWOP). Aguilar was sentenced to LWOP.

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that in observance of Operation Green Light, the Board of County Commissioners of Oklahoma County encourages its citizens in patriotic tradition to recognize the importance of honoring all those who made immeasurable sacrifices to preserve freedom by displaying green lights in a window of their place of business or residence from November 6th through the 12th, 2023.
