Commissioner Carrie Blumert Voices Opposition to Potential Jail Site Locations in Northeast Oklahoma City

“I want to thank the members of the community for their input at today’s Citizen Oversight Board Meeting.  That board is charged with making recommendations concerning the location and design of the new jail, as well as construction oversight. “

“Like many of those who spoke today, I am opposed to locating the jail at the Britton and Kelley site or any other site within Northeast Oklahoma City.  I am confident we can find a site that meets the needs of all stakeholders without inflicting continued harm on Northeast Oklahoma City.”
